Fortify

Successful establishment is critical to getting the best return from any pasture or crop investment. In the early stages of growth, emerging seedlings can be highly vulnerable to insect attack and disease pressure, which can reduce plant numbers, weaken establishment and limit paddock performance from the outset.

Seed treatment is one way to help reduce that risk. By protecting seed and young seedlings during the establishment phase, it gives new sowings a stronger start and helps farmers protect the time, cost and planning that goes into repasturing and cropping programmes.

Our solution

Targeted protection from seed to seedling
RAGT Fortify seed treatments use advanced polymer technology to deliver targeted protection where it is needed most. By combining systemic and non-systemic chemistry, Fortify helps protect both the seed in the soil and the young plant as it emerges.

The non-systemic components create a protective barrier around the seed, helping shield it from early soil-based threats. The systemic components are taken up by the germinating seedling, extending protection through the vulnerable early growth stage for up to 42 days.

Where pest pressure is expected to be high, seed treatment should be part of a wider establishment strategy. Pre-sowing assessment remains important, particularly in direct-drilled situations where carryover plant material can increase pest transfer. Previous crop history should also be considered, as some pests can move readily between crops, including from maize into new grass.
